Federal Minimum Wage Set to Increase

And jobs are set to disappear. The do-gooders and socialists are set to rejoice as the federal minimum wage will rise to $6.55 this week. Some may believe this is a good thing. It is not. To support this is to ignore not only economics, but also the constitution. Everyone who ever argued that the Bush Administration subverted the constitution with its warrant less wiretapping program, they lose all credibility with their support of a federal minimum wage. Where in the constitution is the federal government empowered to set the prices for businesses? What clause in the document supports this power grab by the centralized government?

  • Ummmmmm, I’m going to go with the interstate commerce clause, which specifically authorizes the federal government to regulate interstate commerce.

In contrast, the 4th Amendment specifically prohibits any searches without a warrant. It does not contain an exception for “national security.”
